Generally speaking, youth doesn’t bother me. The best thing about being old is knowing stuff. Not academically, I mean. Just the experience of existence means you’re generally more content with how things work. Which is then why it’s so sickening when you get someone young who seemingly knows what they’re doing. And if you add talent on top of that, it’s just shattering. And this is where Billie Eilish comes in.
Can you imagine being as popular and successful as this and only being seventeen? If you’re anything like me, you struggled to put one foot in front of the other at that age. Multiple Grammys by eighteen, a Bond theme under her belt at nineteen. At the time of writing she’s just turned twenty, so technically can’t even buy alcohol. It’s madness, I tell you.
The green hair phase my favourite, if you’re interested.
The design is based on the old skool 80s BRUT bottles (she mentions wearing some bloke’s cologne in the song). I always considered it the quintessential ‘bad guy’ aftershave from back then. Considering they dropped Paul Gascoigne from their ads after domestic violence allegations, I reckon it all checks out.
