It’s rare that a song comes along that instantly changes your mood, but this is one of they. I should clarify: it makes it better. Unlike the Pharrel Williams song ‘Happy’, which – conversely – makes me want to stab people’s eyes out.
Let’s remain positive. I saw this performed live at Sonisphere in 2011. It had been raining. A lot. Then half way through this song, the rain stopped and the sun came out. What a result. Weezer then played ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ by Wheatus and exclaimed ‘that’s our song now’ on completion.
Followed up by a ‘Hash Pipe’ / ‘Paranoid Android’ double whammy. What a day, Even though it obviously rained again afterwards.
Oh, the design is the sign you see travelling into Beverly Hills. You probably worked that out already.
